A Series of Unfortunate Events is a very sad yet entertaining book. If you like dark and sad books that leaves you jaw droping, than this is the book for you. There are 13 books in this series that keeps you surprised every time. These are one of my favorite series. The Bad Beginning is the first book of this series. There are 3 kids that are orphans named Violet, Klaus and Sunny. Sadly their parents, the Baudelaire died in a house fire and the 3 children are left alone. A social worker takes them to their long distant relative. The kids are nervous but so excited to begin a new and happy life. In this book that's not going to happen. Instead of a beautiful well taken care of house they get a dark, dirty and gray house that is all torn up. In the front of the door they see a painted eye, the door opens slowly and they see ................. I don't want to give the whole book away!!!!! Let's just say if you like sad and suspenseful book series then here you go. I took away from this book that I am grateful for my family and hopefully I don't have a mean long disant relative.
