In this book, it is about a little girl named Lia Lee. She was diagnosed with epilepsy at MMC Hospital. Her family is Hmong and doesn't speak any English, which cause a language barrier for her family and the doctors. This was when translators were not common in a hospital or very hard to find. Her family doesn't know how much medicine to give Lia and keeps overdosing her. Her family doesn't know that they are slowing killing Lia. The doctors are worried about Lia because her condition keeps worsening and her family isn't taking care of her because they don't know what to do. This book explains how cultures collide. I recommend this book for people who like learning about new cultures, as well as medical information.
